Hey, people. What’s going on? It’s Jordan Turner of The Wrestling Takeover, and I’m back once again with another opinion article on DiscussPW. I will detail who I not only think should main event night one of WrestleMania, but which one makes sense. Plus, I will chronicle why each match should main event night one of WrestleMania. Let’s begin.
CHARLOTTE FLAIR vs. RHEA RIPLEY – SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
The Women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley will challenge the current champion, Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 in Sofi Stadium. We previously saw these two ladies battle on two occasions, one at Money In The Bank and the other one being at WrestleMania 36 where the company was in house during the Pandemic Era. Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley have always delivered, the thing is at WrestleMania 36, I still feel that Rhea Ripley should have defeated Charlotte Flair but she didn’t. Rhea Ripley cut a promo on Raw and she said that she has ”unfinished business” with Charlotte Flair. Many fans like myself were upset when Rhea Ripley didn’t challenge current Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair at WrestleMania. The thing is, from the looks of it, Triple H once to end the rivalry with Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley with Rhea Ripley going out on top in Sofi Stadium in Los Angles. These two ladies have history, so they could main event night one. Not to mention that Rhea Ripley won The Women’s Royal Rumble and when you win that, you should headline and main event one of the nights of WrestleMania. There’s two nights, so this match potentially being in the main event of night one is a reality and should be taken seriously.
THE USOS vs. KEVIN OWENS & SAMI ZAYN – WWE UNDISPUTED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
We are all aware that WWE is building towards Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. The Usos at WrestleMania 39. Many fans still want Sami Zayn to challenge (C) Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, that’s not happening. The story has always been for Sami Zayn to tag with Kevin Owens and take those Tag Team Championships away from The Usos at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angles. The storyline with Sami Zayn and The Bloodline has been hot over the past couple of months and we need a proper conclusion to this Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn storyline. Funny enough, we will be getting that at Elimination Chamber and that’s where the new story will start between Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and The Usos. Should this tag team match main event night one of WrestleMania? Many people in the community are wanting it too indeed be the main event of night one. The WWE has a chance to close night one of WrestleMania with a Tag Team match. The conclusion to this story should end with the main event on night one. But will WWE do that?
WHAT MATCH DO I THINK SHOULD MAIN EVENT NIGHT ONE?
The WWE should close WrestleMania 39 night one with The (C) Usos vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for The Tag Team Championship. Here’s the reality of the situation, I don’t see WWE closing night one with this match. In-fact, I see WWE closing (C) Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for The SmackDown Women’s Championship. Mainly because it’s two-nights and WWE wants a women’s match to close one of the nights and also, Rhea Ripley did win her respective Royal Rumble. So if Cody Rhodes who won The Men’s Royal Rumble is closing night two, then Rhea Ripley should close night one.
