The Wrestling Takeover Top 10 Favorite Wrestlers All Time

Hello, everyone! It’s “The Wrestling Takeover” Jordan Turner here with another article for DiscussPW. It is very subjective when ranking anything related to professional wrestling. So I decided to make a controversial list dedicated to my all-time favorite pro wrestlers. Also, I will name two of my favorite matches regarding these individuals. Soon, I will write a new article dedicated to women down the line, so stay tuned.

Regardless, I want to know who’s in your top 10. Comment on the post; I’m interested in knowing who’s on your list. Enjoy the article, and please check out all the previous articles I’ve written for the site.

10. John Cena

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus CM Punk from (Money In The Bank ’11)

Versus AJ Styles from (Royal Rumble ’17)

John Cena’s track record for putting on good matches is great. He has adapted over the years, and as a fan of his, I saw it. WrestleMania 22 and WrestleMania 23 were a test for John Cena, and it was to see if he could hang with people in the ring that are great wrestlers like Shawn Micheals and Triple H. And guess what? I succeed with flying colors. The rest, they say… Is history. He can sell you anything when it comes to the promo.

9. Eddie Guererro

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus Brock Lesnar at (No Way Out ’04)

Versus Rey Mysterio (SummerSlam ’05)

Eddie Guererro is an all-time great. Every wrestling fan has nothing but gratitude and love for that man. He was a master at his craft, he had memorable matches with a lot of people, and he was booked well in WWE. His rivalry with Rey Mysterio was fantastic because it was personal.

8. Ric Flair

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus Shawn Micheals from (WrestleMania 24)

Versus Ricky Steamboat from (Chi-Town Rumble ’84)

Ric Flair is iconic. The Wooo catchphrase was a legend in its own right, and Ric Flair gave us memorable matches I went back and watched some of his greatest matches, and there was no way that this man was not going to be on the list.

7. Triple H

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus The Undertaker from (WrestleMania 28)

Versus Mick Foley from (Royal Rumble ‘000)

Triple H was easily one of the best bad guys in WWE. He has always put on excellent matches throughout his career. He’s had more fun matches than okay matches throughout his career. Now you look at what he did in NXT black and gold. before he was destroyed. Now him being in charge of the creative for Raw and SmackDown. It’s an unreal comeback story. Triple H is amazing, inside the ring and out.

6. The Rock

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus The Undertaker versus Kurt Angle from (Vengence ’02)

Versus Stone Cold Steve Austin from (WrestleMania 17)

The Rock is the most electrifying man in all and entertainment. His promos are magnificent, and he’s charismatic and solid in the ring. The Rock is a legend in the game, then, now, and forever.

5. Kurt Angle

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus Shawn Micheals from (WrestleMania 21)

Versus Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania 19)

Kurt Angle was the total package. He was great inside the ring and great when cutting a promo. But when it came to his in-ring ability, it was out of this world, as he could adapt quickly. He’s an all-time great, and there’s no denying that.

4. Edge

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus John Cena from Unforgiven 2006

Versus The Hardy Boyz And Dudley Boyz from (WrestleMania 17)

Edge is an all-time great and one of the best bad guys in WWE history as the ”Rated-R Superstar.” Since returning, he’s put on outstanding matches as well. He can command our attention, and also, he was great when it came to putting a promo and telling stories. Everybody on this list is phenomenal.

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus Triple H from No Way Out ’01

Versus Bret Hart from WrestleMania 13

Steve Austin is amazing. He had a short career due to a neck injury, but he gave us great matches throughout his career. As soon as the glass shattered, it was game on as he commanded the fan’s attention, and the rest is history. He’s a legend in the game and an all-time great.

2. Shawn Micheals

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus The Undertaker from WrestleMania 25

Versus Kurt Angle from WrestleMania 21

Perhaps the greatest in-ring performer of our generation is Shawn Micheals. He had the charisma, the promo ability, and wrestling, of course. Shawn Micheals is ”Mr. WrestleMania” and he has that title for a reason because a lot of his WrestleMania matches were outstanding. He can do it all.

1. The Undertaker

Two Favorite Matches:

Versus Shawn Micheals from WrestleMania 25

Versus Mick Foley from King Of The Ring ’98

Honestly, there’s not a lot, I will say. Because his work shows itself, and he’s number one on many people’s lists for multiple reasons. He’s THE GREATEST OF ALL-TIME in my eyes, and that will NEVER CHANGE.

Every time I read and or watch somebody rank their best WWE matches ever, this match is always in the top three. This match from top to bottom was electrifying. Thanks for reading my newest article!
