This week’s host is Aubrey Plaza who is making her hosting debut. Plaza stars in “Emily the Criminal,” currently streaming on Netflix, and HBO’s “The White Lotus.” Sam Smith will perform as musical guest for the third time. The Academy and Grammy Award winner’s new album, “Gloria,” will be released Jan. 27.

“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer of the series is Lorne Michaels. They resumed Season 47 this weekend with first-time host Ariana DeBose and first-time musical guest Bleachers.
