New Orleans EMT responders face the darkness of death and the joy of life in one whirlwind episode. They go from treating gunshot victims and car accident patients to delivering a baby – with one of the technicians expecting a baby of her own.
The old saying “Nothing good happens after midnight” rings true in the nonfiction series “Nightwatch.” Hourlong episodes follow emergency responders in New Orleans and Tampa, Fla., who work the busy, unpredictable 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. shift, battling time and circumstances while attempting to save lives. Responding to as many as a thousand calls a night are police officers, firefighters and EMTs who exhibit the skills, dedication and determination needed to properly serve their cities. Dick Wolf (“Chicago Fire,” “Chicago PD”) co-executive produces the series.
