10 best roman reigns matches

What’s up, family? It’s Jordan, the host of ”The Wrestling Takeover” and ,I’m back with another article for DiscussPW. We hear about Roman Reigns and all his matches as ‘The Tribal Chief’ as the reigning WWE/Universal Undisputed Champion.

Let me know what you think about this list; I hope you all enjoy it.

Every single one of these matches had that fight feel presentation about them. This man has carried WWE on his back and still is to this very day in 2022 and going into 2023. He has a huge catalog of matches from one to twenty-four. Every one of these matches told a great story!

ALL HAIL THE TRIBAL CHIEF AND HEAD OF THE TABLE. ROMAN REIGNS!

TOP 10. HERE WE GO!

1. Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre – Clash At The Castle 22′

.This had an unbelievable story going into it, and those fans in Cardiff were on the edge of their seats because they anticipated Roman Reigns to lose. When he didn’t, they were so devastated.

2. Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Edge – WrestleMania 37 Night Two 21′

A.t this point in his reign, the fans wanted either Daniel Bryan or Edge to be the guy to defeat Roman Reigns. The thing is, WWE did a great job of convincing the audience to believe that either man would do it. When they didn’t, the fans felt like, ”well, nobody is beating this guy.”

3. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar – SummerSlam 22′

.At this point in their rivalry, I’ve only enjoyed thetheir match WrestleMania 31, which was back in 2015. They, in my eyes, didn’t get close to matching their WrestleMania 31 match until SummerSlam hit. The matgames carnage solidified, and even Paul Heyman got F-5’d by Brock Lesnar on the announce table, plus a tractor got involved as the ring flipped over. It was a car crash and a fun one at that to watch as a fan.

4. Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso – Hell In A Cell 22′

I.t was all about storytelling. The facial expressions told the story. Roman Reigns conflicted, and Jey Uso being that rebel and was able to take the punishment. Jimmy Uso appears and throws in the towel to signify to stop the match because he didn’t want to see his brother get beat up, but he didn’t want to see his cousin beat up his cousin. The story made me emotional because I have a twin, and I wouldn’t want to see my twin getting beat up by his cousin and vice versa.

5. Roman Reigns vs. John Cena – SummerSlam 21′

.John Cena recently returned to Money In The Bank. When he did, I knew exactly where WWE was going an,d that’s these two men heading into SummerSlam. Now, the story was all it took to defeat Roman Reigns was 1,2,3. John Cena and Roman Reigns cut good promos and every time, all saithey d was ”all it takes is 1,2,3.” These two men went in there and put on a good match an,d honestly, they put on a SummerSlam classic. People wanted John Cena to win bu,t a majority of people felt that Roman Reigns was going to win wh,ich he did.

6. Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens – Royal Rumble 21′

.Kevin Owen’s quest to become World Champion was a great story to tell. He failed at Tables, Ladders, And Chairs because of Jey Uso bu,t now he had the upper hand because anything was legal. The thing is, Roman Reigns had Paul Heyman and Kevin Owens didn’t. Besides the botch at the end where Paul Heyman was struggling to release Roman Reigns from the handcuffs, the match was enjoyable.

7. Roman Reigns vs. Edge – Money In The Bank 21′

E.dge failed at WrestleMania. He acted revenge against Roman Reigns and this was a time when lots of fans thought Edge would be the guy who defeated Roman Reigns and ended the dominant reign. ThiThe thing, Seth Rollins was the sole reason why Edge lost which kicked off a rivalry between the two that delivered on all accounts. Roman Reigns tried to outsmart Edge and that wasn’t the case bu,t Roman Reigns found a way, even if it’s through cheap tactics, he still retained.

8. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins – Royal Rumble 22′

These two never disappoint in the ring. These two have a history as the story going into it was that Seth Rollins has and will forever have Roman Reigns’ number. Seth Rollins played mind games against Roman Reigns leading up and during the match as he came out to The Shield theme. You saw visibly that Roman Reigns was becoming frustrated that he couldn’t put Seth Rollins away. So to retain his title, he cheated to win. I would love to see another match between the two, but with a winner and a loser.

9. Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan – SmackDown Episode 21′

Around this time. Roman Reigns dominated everybody including Daniel Bryan, but Daniel Bryan has been screwed on multiple occasions going against Roman Reigns. The episode of SmackDown where they battled was touted ”if Daniel Bryan can’t defeat Roman Reigns. He will have to leave WWE.” That was the story and Daniel Bryan was doing everything he could to not lose and be the guy who defeats Roman Reigns. That didn’t happen and he lost which meant he left WWE. These two put on a clinic, even though the outcome was already written in stone.

10. Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro – WrestleMania Backlash 21′

Cesaro was a dude who didn’t have any shot to defeat Roman Reigns and that was the story. Roman Reigns treated Cesaro as a jobber, that’s what it felt like watching as a viewer, no matter how good Cesaro is. But at WrestleMania Backlash, they made it seem like Cesaro had a legit shot to shock the world and dethrone Roman Reigns. When Cesaro was trapped in The Gullintone Choke’s submission, he got out of it. Then he hit his finisher and thought it was it, but no. Roman Reigns applied it again and that’s all she wrote. The story was told perfectly and that’s all I could have asked for.
